2019年の新たな試みとして、地域コミュニティへのつながりに寄与する「プロフェッショナル転校生」を迎える活動をスタートし、宮島達男（みやじま たつお）が参加しました。宮島は、2017年より行なっている「時の海-東北」の作品制作のワークショップの開催と展示を行いました。このワークショップの内容は宮島が参加した森美術館で開催された「Stars展」の展示にも盛り込まれました。この活動が、2020年から試みている地域コミュニティとの連携を図る活動のきっかけとなりました。
As a new endeavor for 2019, we invited Tatsuo Miyajima as a transfer student to engage in local community at large. Miyajima held a couple of workshops with students which resulted in a small temporary installation of his on-going project "Sea of Time - Tohoku" which he has been working on since 2017. The part of contents from this workshop was also incorporated into the exhibition "Stars" at the Mori Art Museum in which Miyajima took part in.

東京藝術大学大学院修了(1986年)。1988年ヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレ、新人部門に招待され、デジタル数字を用いた作品で国際的に注目を集める。以来、国内外で数多くの展覧会を開催。世界30カ国250か所以上で作品を発表している。1997年ジュネーブ大学コンペティション優勝。1998年第5回日本現代芸術振興賞受賞。1998年ロンドン芸術大学名誉博士授与。2006-2016年 東北芸術工科大学副学⻑。2012-2016年 京都造形芸術大学副学⻑。代表作に「メガ・デス」など。また、⻑崎で被爆した柿の木2世を世界の子どもたちに育ててもらう活動、「時の蘇生・柿の木プロジェクト」も推進している。オフィシャルサイト
Graduated from graduate school at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1986. Miyajima was invited to participate in the Newcomer's Division at the Venice Biennale in 1988 where he caught international attention with his works using digital numbers. Since then, he has held numerous exhibitions across Japan and around the world and his works have been exhibited in over 250 places in over 30 different countries. He won first prize at the University of Geneva Competition in 1997 and the 5th Japan Contemporary Art Promotion Award in 1998. He received an honorary doctorate from the University of the Arts London in 1998. Miyajima was Vice President of Tohoku University of Art & Design from2006 to 2016 Vice President of Kyoto University of Art and Design from 2012 to 2016. His most well-known works include "Mega Death." He is also promoting "Reviving Time: The Persimmon Tree Project," a project to raise the second generation of persimmon trees that were exposed to the atomic bomb in Nagasaki. Official site
